Matthew is a Partner in our Property team.
He works with many hotels, pubs, clubs, restaurants, property developers and commercial business owners who come to Matthew for advice on acquisition, sale and leasing of commercial property and business assets, particularly development sites and licensed venues.
Matthew prioritises looking beyond immediate legal issues to consider the impact of his advice on a client’s overall business strategy. He enjoys working with clients through different phases of growth and being involved in developments, joint ventures and strategic plays across the entire cycle – from inception, acquisition, restructure and improvement, and then disposal.
Matthew has extensive experience in the liquor and gaming sectors, including licensing applications for new venues, negotiating management agreements and advising on all property aspects on behalf of both landlord and tenant.
His ability to identify and address potential issues upfront means he continually delivers results to clubs and hospitality industry clients.
His involvement with peak bodies across the hotels, pubs and clubs industries helps Matthew stay up to date with emerging trends and industry issues.
