I was approached by an international investor syndicate who were looking to divest one of their hotel investments in North Queensland.
The work involved negotiating favourable contract terms, dealing with licensing issues and keeping the transaction progressing to a successful settlement.
Having worked in property and with hoteliers for many years, I was able to deliver value to my client by managing the entire sale process, from a pre-sale review of the asset structure, compiling pre-contract due diligence, drafting suitable transaction documents and managing the necessary approvals and steps to completion. I also liaised with sales agents regarding the Information Memorandum and marketing campaign; created and managed a virtual data room for disclosure material; monitored access and interest from bidder parties; and managed competitive tension with multiple bidders.
Having experience with the divestment of property assets together with extensive experience in hotel transactions meant I could help my client achieve a great result in a smooth and timely manner – using my industry intel to achieve a few little wins along the way.
