Industry connections and expertise save music festival at the last minute

My client, a popular hotel, was due to hold a major music festival in just days’ time when it was shut down by the regulator. The hotel needed an urgent hearing before the Liquor Appeals Tribunal (now QCAT) to have the closure lifted in time for the event.

With one day’s notice, my experienced team and I convened an urgent hearing before the Tribunal, which went on well into the night.

The result? An order in favour of my client and the go-ahead for the event.

Without the order, my client’s financial and reputational loss would have been catastrophic. With our intervention, eight national bands arrived the following day and played music for the packed festival crowd, without anybody knowing the threat that existed the day before. (Aside from the very relieved client.)
